Our Commitment to Equality
HourNest is founded on the principle of providing a safe, respectful, and open rental environment for everyone.
We strictly prohibit any form of illegal discrimination, regardless of whether it comes from a guest, a host, or a representative of HourNest.
We are committed to offering equal opportunities to all users, regardless of background or identity.
Prohibited Grounds of Discrimination
A host may not deny a booking, set different prices, or treat guests unequally based on any of the following protected characteristics:
Race or Ethnic Origin: race, color, nationality, ethnic background
Religion or Belief: religious views or lack thereof
Gender and Sexual Orientation: gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation
Age and Disability: physical or mental disability, health condition, age
Socioeconomic Status: source of income, wealth, or occupation
(Exception: cases where HourNest assesses payment-related risk on behalf of the service)
Responsibilities of Hosts and Guests
Hosts:
Hosts must comply with this policy and Finnish law.
Booking approval or denial must be based only on:
- availability
- the published house rules
- lawful and business-related reasons (e.g., guest capacity limits)
Guests:
Guests must treat hosts, neighbors, and HourNest staff with respect and professionalism, regardless of background or identity.
Reporting and Consequences
Consequences:
Any user (host or guest) who violates this policy may be permanently removed from the HourNest platform without prior warning.

If you experience or witness discrimination on HourNest, report it immediately:
Investigation:
HourNest will handle all reports promptly and carefully.
